Robotics Process Automation – Digital Workers (RPA)

Robotics Process Automation – Digital Workers (RPA)

RPA is becoming the cornerstone of software automation. It enables business to relieve their employees from mundane repetitive tasks by assigning them to software robots that mimic the exact steps that humans do faster and more accurate than humans.  RPA technology requires no changes to the IT infrastructure within businesses and can interact with all the systems via user interface (like humans) or via API/Webservices when available. RPA can interact with mainframe, web, desktop, Java based and Citrix/remote desktop applications. It acts as the last mile of automation as it enables systems that were previously not possible to connect to each other (technically not possible, too expensive or for security reasons) to now communicate together with RPA acting as both an integrator and validation of data being exchanged between the systems.

BUSINESS PROCESS AUTOMATION (BPM)

BUSINESS PROCESS AUTOMATION (BPM)

Businesses are changing fast and collaboration between different teams is key to their success.  Workflows needs to be managed in a simple way enabling business to implement and monitor SLAs whilst having the flexibility to make changes to the workflow without needing to code. BPM software enables such functionality and plays a key role in paperless environments. It enables business to manage workflows internally, with their suppliers and with their customers. It is the central hub of how work is accomplished within a business.

Chatbot

Chatbot

Individuals are seeking faster ways to be served and Chatbots deliver instant responses 24/7. Chatbots enable business to open a new channel of communication for its customers, suppliers and employees whilst reducing the cost of serving these requests.  Customers can complete frequently requested transactions in seconds. Supplier enquiring on the status of their payments can now be done without needing to load the finance team. Employees can now apply for annual leave with simple messages avoiding the need to access the internal HR system.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Businesses can now convert printed invoices, printed forms, IDs (passport, national, medical, etc) and printed documents to editable and shareable data using OCR technology.  Combined with RPA, business can now handle workflows automatically. Take Account Payable as an example. Using OCR + RPA technologies, businesses can now automatically process received invoices by first using OCR to extract the data from the invoices then using RPA to validate the invoice data against the businesses’ ERP system and if accepted, upload the invoice and enter its data into the ERP then replying to the supplier that their invoice has been accepted and is now under processing.  All of this happens in minutes and 24/7.
